St.Anton in Pictures
I am intending to display some of the great pictures that I have from around St.Anton and on the ski slopes, both in winter and summer. If you are interested in purchasing a large high quality print of any of the pictures that I display then email me and I can quote you a price.
White Forest
Jennewein Shop
Mountains
There are many things about this picture that reveal just how beautiful it is up in the mountains. The clouds moving slowly through the valley and the forests silhouetted against the mountains in the background.
The Zammermoosbahn
The Zammermoos bahn, a very cold morning with all the metal frosted over - you can almost feel the frost coming out of the photo. The deep blue colour of the sky is reflected in the glass - I just love it.
Piste Marker
This is another of my favourite shots, I like everything about it - the clouds, the sun, the glistening crystalls in the snow and the solitary marker sticking, lopsided out of the snow. It looked good in colourtoo but I preferred the black & white version.
On Moroi
Three Trees
Sun and piste
Lech Chairlift
The attractions of this photo to me are the very clear cut lines and the contrast between light and dark. Again this is a photo that was nothing special until I converted it to black and white.
Pathway
Netting
This is up on Kapall, I was waiting for some friends to make their way up on the chair lift so was just taking a few pictures to pass the time. In colour it is not much at all but by converting it to black and white it becomes much more interesting. I like the way that the Galzig throws such a large shadow across the valley.
Moody Lake
Autumn Trees
Afternoon Sun
This photo was taken late in the day, when our little group was heading for some apres ski after a days skiing. The sun was just getting low so I hung back and waiting until the guys were walking towards it to get this shot. I think it sums up a great days skiing.
Zammermoos
This is one of my favourite photo's. It is the Zammermoos chairlift but it looks more like some strange extra terrestrial craft. I think that it just looks amazing, it did not work in colour but black and white just makes it. What more can I say.
Lech
This picture is years old, I took it when I first started skiing in the Arlberg and all I can remember is that it is somewhere between Lech & Zurs. It has spent lots of time in photoshop and I also had to remove a couple of people who were skiing the distance - bet you can't spot them !
The Dead Tree
Leaves
Lovely Larch
The Lens
More Lens
Another photo on the same theme as the one above, Lens again, goggles again - pity that he had not shaved for this one ! I just love the way that the light is reflecting off the goggles & helmet, creating some really great effects and colours.
The Lone Pine
White Christmas
Jaguar SS
OK, so this pic does not really show much of St.Anton apart from the reflection of the Alte Post, however it is from the "Oldtimers" weekend that is held in the village each summer, it is my favorite car and also a nice photo..... so it is here!
Trees
This picture was talking in late October when it was still really hot and sunny. It is in the forest above St.Jakob. I loved the way the light was just coming through the trees and giving a great mix of light and shadow.
The Full Moon
This photo was actually taken from the petrol station in St.Anton whilst filling up as I set off to Italy! The moon was just appearing from behind the mountains and I have a great sequence of shots as it slowly come into full view.
Green Grass
Whilst walking up above Langen I just took a picture of the long grass, when I put in onto the pc and played around with it in photoshop I arrived at this effect - quite nice -hope you agree.
Mountain Biking
Draglift at sunset
Late in the afternoon whilst skiing up on Blue Osthang I saw the sun moving behind the mountain and chairlift so I waited until I had the perfect shot. I think that it looks great!
The Galzigbahn
Christmas Trees
Whilst skiing off piste on the Valuga hangs, very close to the Ulmer Hutte I saw these two trees, totally covered in snow and framed by a clear blue sky - just had to stop and whip the camera out.
